It's applied by instilling 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 3-4 hours, but requires physician supervision and a doctor should be consulted if symptoms worsen or persist beyond 72 hours. While temporary burning and irritation are expected, serious side effects like severe pain, changes in vision, or increased redness warrant immediate medical attention. How It Works The 5% sodium chloride solution is a hypertonic agent. Its high concentration of salt helps to draw excess fluid out of the cornea.
